WHAT I LEARNED: I cannot look for perfection in others until I achieve it myself. …I guess that will be a while! 😜
WHAT I LEARNED: When I try to overcome procrastination, I think about the bookmark (item # M-12) that says “Just For Today… I will be unafraid.” The bookmark isn’t called “Just For Tomorrow!”
WHAT I LEARNED: Since alcoholism runs in my family, it was not my choice to be a carrier of the disease. However, it IS my choice to be a carrier of the message!
WHAT I LEARNED: So much of my life has been lived conditionally. I could only love IF… I could only have fun IF… Now I live regardlessly! (That’s a word, right?) WHAT I LEARNED: Step 4 is not about taking an immoral inventory!
WHAT I LEARNED: Meetings are like bubble baths. I always feel better & warm inside afterwards, & the members are the bubbles!
WHAT I LEARNED: It is pain that connects us… & hope that lifts us.
WHAT I LEARNED: I may not have active alcoholism in my life right now, but I still have ME in my life – and that’s why I keep coming back!
WHAT I LEARNED: My Higher Power only gives me as much pain & sorrow as I can handle, but I’m also given as much joy & happiness as I am open to!
WHAT I LEARNED: The disease of alcoholism almost certainly guarantees a lack of intimacy on so many levels.
WHAT I LEARNED: 1. Crying in a meeting is an expression of words I cannot say. 2. My inventories of other people are usually not about their assets.
WHAT I LEARNED: Although some of my issues may have my parents’ names on them, the solutions have mine on them!
WHAT I LEARNED: I am spiritually asleep when I keep hitting the snooze button called “denial.”
WHAT I LEARNED: Anxiety can make me not see the truth.
WHAT I LEARNED: 1. I make plans & God laughs. 2. I can be supportive without being involved.
WHAT I LEARNED: 1. Pain is information. 2. Suffering is the part of pain I create.
