WHAT I LEARNED: 1. So you love an alcoholic? Well join the club! This is the fourth pamphlet in the general Al-Anon Newcomer Packet (item # K-10). I like that it lists several “Do’s” & “Don’ts.” I’ve seen a great list like this for Alateen (item # M-9), but this is the first one I’ve seen for adults.
2. Most CAL items are for us, by us, & about us – very few other organizations (other than AA) are mentioned in our literature. However on the very back of this pamphlet a credit is given to the Texas Commission on Alcoholism. My question is: “Why Texas?” Why not a national board? If you have any info, please feel free to leave me a reply or comment!

There is one of our pamphlets that was considered non-CAL and then adopted by WSO. I believe it was written by a priest – not that has any bearing on Texas, but …. guess I might look it up in Many Voices, One Journey (sorry not underlined – don’t know how – I know, that’s sad)
I searched through the index of Many Voices, One Journey (B-31) for info on this pamphlet before I did the blog entry but didn’t find anything. I haven’t read the full book yet, but if there’s something in there about it, definitely let me know by posting another comment. Thanks!
