CAL – Alateen Talk Newsletter (Item # N/A)

WHAT I LEARNED: 1. This is the eleventh & last item in the Alateen Newcomer Packet (item # K-18) & is a full issue of a newsletter – not an excerpt.  The particular one in this packet is 8 pages total, has feedback on a writing workshop & an Alateen Conference, various sharings from members around…

MTG – Orlando – “Today’s Hope AFG”

WHAT I LEARNED: 1. I was a speaker again tonight & now I know the term I was looking for the other day that describes the feeling at the end of my story – when people come up to me with tears in their eyes – & the person I thought I was not reaching,…

MTG – Deland – “Deland AFG”

WHAT I LEARNED: To me, there is almost no better feeling in this program than when I’m a speaker at a group & after the meeting is over, someone comes up to me & says “You told my story!”  I can’t even think of a word to properly describe how amazing that feeling is, but I…

DISTRICT MTG – July 2013

WHAT I LEARNED: With so many first-time attendees at today’s District Meeting, I didn’t get to say a proper hello to you because it was so hectic, so consider this your IOU for 1 hug!

MTG – Ocoee – “Monday Miracles”

WHAT I LEARNED: Nowhere in Tradition 7 is the word “money” or “financial.”  Another way to look at it is I, & the groups I attend, can be “self-supporting” emotionally, spiritually & through participating in service work.

MTG – Oviedo – “Listen & Learn AFG”

WHAT I LEARNED: If I ever get Alzheimer’s, I hope the memory of my very first meeting is one of the last things to go.  …I want to hold onto that moment for as long as I can.

MTG – Orlando – “Easy Does It”

WHAT I LEARNED: “Today” is a word I need to use more often in order to gain perspective.  If I’m not having a great day, I’m only having it …“today.”  It’s not going to be for the whole week/month/year.  It reminds me tomorrow can always be different.

MTG – Tavares – “Peace of Mind AFG”

WHAT I LEARNED: When church bells rang out a long song at the end of the meeting, it leant an ethereal quality to the closing being read.  🔔  Perhaps it’s all this reading I’ve been doing lately on Al-Anon’s history, but for a brief moment I felt connected not just to the people in the…
