WHAT I LEARNED: In my view, this pamphlet is a short breakdown of each part of the preamble read at the beginning of meetings.  I can see why, of the 6 different types of Packets available, this is the first pamphlet of the most popular one: the general Al-Anon Newcomer Packet (item # K-10).  It answers 11 frequently asked questions about the Al-Anon program, members, and groups.   The suggested preamble is printed on page 4 of this pamphlet, but the preamble can also be found online at the World Service Office’s website by clicking this link: www.al-anon.org/pdf/preamble.pdf

**UPDATE 7/7/2021: I just bought the brand new “Welcome Newcomer!” eBooklet (item # eK-10) for $1.40 (see image below).  At first glance, it looks to be very different than the general Al-Anon Newcomer Packet (K-10).  I’ll be posting a more in-depth review about it on this blog soon.  In the meantime, you can click on this link to find out more about it from the main Al-Anon website.
